Where feasible, Molins can modify and retrofit existing machines and equipment to enable new products and/or a more diverse product range to be produced. This enables customers to launch new and novel products to market without the need to buy a completely new machine. The result is far lower capital costs and often a faster time to market.
An example of this is a squeezable tea-bag product, where we designed and built a module to interface with an existing bag-making machine. The new module added the thread and tag, thereby creating a totally new product concept for the consumer.
We also undertake redesign and rebuild work for complete Control Systems, where obsolescence of components means that existing systems can no longer be supported. The mechanical aspects of the machine may be sound and replacement unnecessary, therefore this approach provides a way of significantly extending the life of machines whilst minimising capital costs.
